Meet Lyndie Aquila- Family Photographer

I am looking forward to working with you to create memories that will last a lifetime. I create mainly portraits of people both seniors and families but also like to photograph wildlife, landscapes and am working on growing my skill set in equine photography.

Educator for life!

I have been a middle school history teacher since 2001. It is fascinating to engage with students on a daily basis and make history interesting. Work is never boring and I ensure I have the biggest attitude in the class! I also enjoying taking classes myself. There is so much to learn and we all should be learning all the time.

Volunteerism

I was in Girl Scouts for 15 years and had my own Brownie troop as a high school student. I am a Chico State graduate and a proud alumni of a local sorority, Alpha Chi,  that was founded in 1918 by knitting socks for service men during WWI.  I was on my sorority's alumni board from 2001 until 2019. I served several terms on the HOA board when I owned a townhouse.  I am passionate about giving back to the community. When I retire I want to volunteer with Ride to Walk and I want to photograph the animals in the shelters or at rescues to help get them adopted.

Rescues rock!

I love rescuing animals. I have rescued a cat and a horse. This is Montana Bay, my Mustang. I rescued him in 2013. He was not really even halter broke, had very little ground skills and was not broke to ride. I did most of the training myself and this has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done!

49er faithful

I have been a fan since I was a little girl. The 49ers won the first Superbowl right before my 4th birthday.  My godfather was a groundskeeper at Sierra College so we would go watch their practices. I have a dedicated wall in my classroom filled with paraphernalia and my horse is named Montana after Joe Montana.

Personal Connection
Lyndie did a fantastic job on my son's high school graduation pictures. She was very professional, hard working and went above and beyond what she needed to do to make them personalized to him. She provided many different photos to choose from which made it difficult for us to choose the best ones for his graduation announcements. It was definitely a good decision to use her for this special occasion.

Amazing Experience
Working with Lyndie was an amazing experience. I'm usually pretty awkward in front of the camera but she made my sister and I feel super comfortable and made the experience effortless for us. Whenever we asked for guidance, she walked us through poses and constantly checked in on how we felt about the lighting, background etc. She is such a kind and encouraging photographer which really shines through in the session because she's clearly aware of her client's goal and how can achieve that. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants precious photos to look back on; whether you're a pro or a beginner in front of the camera.

P.S. She was me and my sister's 8th grade history teacher and yearbook adviser. I am now a University of Michigan graduate and my sister is a freshmen at Syracuse. It was so fun and cool to have her take our portraits.

I'm sold, let's work together!!
